Cello Concertos
Album by Joseph Haydn & Heinrich Schiff & Academy of St Martin in the Fields & Sir Neville Marriner
Cello Concertos are two concertos for solo cello by Austrian composer Joseph Haydn, written around 1761 and 1783. They exemplify Haydn's mature Classical style with clear formal structures, lyrical solo writing against orchestral accompaniment and technical demands that helped establish these works within the core cello concerto repertoire and Haydn's instrumental output.
