Album by Edward Elgar & Philharmonia Orchestra & Bernard Haitink
Symphony No. 2 in E-flat is the second symphony by English composer Sir Edward Elgar, completed and premiered in 1911. The work exemplifies late-Romantic orchestral writing, with expansive orchestration, dense harmonic development and interwoven thematic material, and it serves as the mature successor to his First Symphony within Elgar's orchestral output.
