Symphony no. 11

Symphony No. 11 in G minor, Op. 103, is the eleventh symphony by Dmitri Shostakovich, completed in 1957. The work employs large-scale orchestration with prominent brass and percussion, combining march-like passages and sombre, elegiac episodes in a broadly programmematic design associated with the events of 1905, and it occupies a notable place in Shostakovich's late-1950s output as part of his post-Stalin engagement with public and political themes.
