Mystery Sonatas

Album by Heinrich Ignaz Franz von Biber & Lina Tur Bonet & Musica Alchemica

The Mystery Sonatas are a collection of violin sonatas by Heinrich Ignaz Franz Biber, composed around 1674. They employ scordatura tuning, virtuosic violin writing and programme-based devotional elements, and occupy an important place in Biber's output and in the development of Baroque violin technique and programme music.
