Vespro della Beata Vergine is a collection of sacred Vespers music by Claudio Monteverdi, published in 1610. The work exemplifies early Baroque practice by combining Renaissance polyphonic techniques with the emerging concertato approach, employing varied vocal forces and instrumental accompaniment and alternating large-scale and intimate textures, and it occupies a central place in Monteverdi's output and in the development of early seventeenth-century sacred music.
