Four Seasons
Album by Antonio Vivaldi & Concerto Amsterdam & Jaap Schröder
The Four Seasons is a set of four violin concertos by the Italian Baroque composer Antonio Vivaldi, published in 1725. The concertos feature virtuosic solo violin writing, ritornello form and vivid tone-painting to evoke seasonal scenes, serving as an early example of programme music that helped shape the Baroque concerto repertoire.
