Symphonies nos. 38 & 39

Album by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart & Academy of Ancient Music & Christopher Hogwood & Jaap Schröder

Symphonies Nos. 38 and 39 are a pair of symphonies by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, composed in the late 1780s. They exemplify Mozart's mature classical style, featuring expanded orchestration with prominent wind writing, varied movement structures and large-scale thematic development, and occupy a transitional place between his Prague-period works and his final symphonies.
