The Cello Suites, Volume 1 is a collection of solo cello suites by Johann Sebastian Bach, composed in the early 18th century. They are Baroque solo cello works that use dance forms, clear harmonic progression and contrapuntal writing, and they were part of Bach's output for unaccompanied instruments and later formed a central part of the cello repertoire.
