String Quartet no. 10, op. 51 / String Quartet no. 11, op. 61

Album by Antonín Dvořák & Zemlinsky Quartet

String Quartet No. 10, Op. 51 and String Quartet No. 11, Op. 61 are chamber works by Czech composer Antonín Dvořák, composed in 1879 and 1881 respectively. Both quartets display characteristic elements of Dvořák's style—lyrical, folk-influenced melodies, rhythmic vitality and rich harmonic textures—and occupy an important place in his middle-period chamber output, bridging his earlier nationalist tendencies and the broader symphonic scope of his later works.
First released: 10th June 2014
