Symphony No. 7 is the seventh symphony by Ludwig van Beethoven, composed in 1811–1812 and premiered in 1813. The work, scored for a classical orchestra, is characterised by prominent rhythmic drive, repeated motifs and colourful orchestration, and occupies a key position in Beethoven's middle period where its emphasis on rhythm and orchestral texture contributed to the development of Romantic symphonic writing.
