Rite
Album by Igor Fyodorovitch Stravinsky & Jon Kimura Parker
The Rite of Spring is a ballet and orchestral work by Igor Fyodorovich Stravinsky, first performed in 1913. The score is characterised by driving, irregular rhythms, bold dissonance and large-scale orchestration that challenged prevailing harmonic and rhythmic norms and marked a pivotal shift in Stravinsky's compositional style and in early 20th-century music.
