Oktett F-Dur D. 803, op. 166
Album by Franz Schubert & Orpheus Ensemble Berlin
Octet in F major, D.803, Op.166 is an octet composition by Franz Schubert composed in 1824. Scored for clarinet, bassoon, horn, two violins, viola, cello and double bass, the large-scale chamber work blends Classical forms with early Romantic harmonic language and expansive melodic writing, and it is one of Schubert's last major contributions to chamber music.
