The Sun, Moon & Herbs

Album by Dr. John

The Sun, Moon & Herbs is the fourth studio album by New Orleans musician Dr. John (the Night Tripper), released in 1971. The album blends New Orleans R&B, voodoo‑inspired psychedelic rock and swampy funk, characterised by dense horn and percussion arrangements, murky production and an emphasis on ritualistic rhythms that continues his exploration of New Orleans musical traditions.
