Twelve Fantasias for Flute Solo
Album by Georg Philipp Telemann & Seiya Ueno
12 Fantasias for Flute Solo, TWV 40:2–13 is a set of twelve solo flute fantasias by German composer Georg Philipp Telemann, first published in 1732. Scored for unaccompanied transverse flute, the fantasias span a range of late Baroque styles—combining contrapuntal writing, dance rhythms and ornamental figurations—and illustrate Telemann's exploration of the solo-instrument repertoire during his mature period.
