Symphonies nos. 2 & 3
Album by Johannes Brahms & Koninklijk Concertgebouworkest & Bernard Haitink
Symphonies nos. 2 & 3 are the second and third symphonies by German composer Johannes Brahms, composed in 1877 and 1883 respectively. Both orchestral works are rooted in the late Romantic tradition, combining classical structures with rich orchestration and lyrical material, and they occupy important positions in Brahms's mature output as he balanced conservative formalism with expressive development.
