Harpsichord Concertos, BWV 1060, 1061, 1062, 1065

Album by Johann Sebastian Bach & Amsterdam Baroque Orchestra & Ton Koopman

The Harpsichord Concertos, BWV 1060, 1061, 1062 and 1065 are a set of harpsichord concertos by Johann Sebastian Bach, composed in the early 18th century (c. 1730s). Written in the Baroque concerto idiom for solo harpsichord and orchestra, they combine virtuosic keyboard writing, contrapuntal textures and orchestral dialogue, and they illustrate Bach's engagement with the keyboard concerto genre during his Leipzig years and his practice of adapting earlier material.
