The Four Seasons
Album by Antonio Vivaldi & Toronto Chamber Orchestra & Kevin Mallon & Siqing Lü
The Four Seasons is a set of four violin concertos by the Italian Baroque composer Antonio Vivaldi, published in 1725. The concertos exemplify Baroque programme music, featuring virtuosic violin writing, vivid tonal imagery and ritornello-form structures that depict seasonal scenes, and they represent a significant element of Vivaldi's instrumental output and the early 18th-century repertoire.
