Symphony No. 6 is a symphony by Austrian composer Gustav Mahler, completed in 1904. The work is a late-Romantic orchestral composition characterised by large-scale structure, intense orchestration, dramatic contrasts and a distinctive hammer-like motif, and it occupies a pivotal place in Mahler's output as an example of his expanding approach to symphonic form and expression.
