Symphony No. 6 'Pathétique', Op. 74 is the sixth symphony by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, completed and premiered in 1893. A late-Romantic orchestral work, it is characterised by sweeping melodies, rich orchestration and stark contrasts between passionate, turbulent passages and subdued, sombre moments, and it was composed as Tchaikovsky's final symphony at the end of his career.
