Symphony No. 1, 'Titan', is the first numbered symphony by Austrian composer Gustav Mahler, completed in 1888. The work uses late-Romantic orchestration, expansive thematic development and folk-influenced material alongside programme-like elements, and it marks Mahler's emergence as a symphonist whose subsequent works further explored large-scale orchestral form.
