Die Moldau is the second symphonic poem from the cycle Má vlast by Czech composer Bedřich Smetana, composed in 1874. The work employs Romantic-era orchestral tone-painting to depict the river's course through contrasting moods—flowing woodwind figures, pastoral interludes and broad orchestral climaxes—and stands as a central example of Smetana's development of a Czech national musical idiom.
