String Quartets
Album by Bedřich Smetana & Zemlinsky Quartet
String Quartets is a set of chamber works by Czech composer Bedřich Smetana, composed between 1876 and 1882. They are Romantic-era string quartets that combine expressive, lyrical writing and dramatic contrasts with elements of Czech folk idioms and personal programme-like gestures, representing Smetana's mature contribution to chamber music and to the development of Czech national style.
