Utrecht Te Deum / Jubilate

Album by George Frideric Handel & Christ Church Cathedral Choir, Oxford & Academy of Ancient Music

Utrecht Te Deum and Jubilate is a sacred choral work by George Frideric Handel, composed in 1713. Scored for choir, soloists and orchestra, it combines Baroque anthem traditions with contrapuntal choruses, fanfare-like orchestral passages and vivid continuo writing, and occupies an important place in Handel's early English ceremonial repertoire.
