Sinfonie Nr. 9 D-Dur

Sinfonie Nr. 9 in D major is the ninth symphony by Austrian composer Gustav Mahler, completed in 1909. A late-Romantic orchestral work, it is characterised by expansive, often introspective themes, complex orchestration and an ambiguous tonality that reflects Mahler's evolving harmonic language and preoccupation with mortality, and it occupies a pivotal place at the end of his symphonic output and in the transition to early 20th-century music.
