Radetzky-Marsch
Album by Johann Strauss & Josef Strauss & Berliner Philharmoniker & Herbert von Karajan
Radetzky-Marsch is a march composed by Austrian composer Johann Strauss I in 1848. The composition exemplifies the Viennese march tradition with brisk rhythmic motifs, prominent brass fanfares and a driving percussion pulse, and it became a staple of military and ceremonial repertoire and a recurring feature of Vienna's New Year concerts, reflecting Strauss's role in popularising light dance and march music in mid-19th-century Austria.
