Violin Sonatas no. 7, op. 30 no. 2 / no. 10, op. 96

Album by Ludwig van Beethoven & Itzhak Perlman & Vladimir Ashkenazy

Violin Sonatas Nos 7 (Op.30 No.2) and 10 (Op.96) are two violin-and-piano works by Ludwig van Beethoven, composed in 1802 and 1812 respectively. The earlier Op.30 No.2 presents a turbulent, dramatic character with concentrated motivic development and active violin–piano dialogue, while the later Op.96 is more lyrical and spacious, reflecting Beethoven's shift from his early to middle compositional style and illustrating evolving approaches to chamber-music writing.
