Symphony No. 3 and the Symphonic Dances are orchestral works by Sergei Rachmaninoff, composed in 1936 and 1940 respectively. Both pieces employ late-Romantic orchestral language characterised by expansive melodies, dense harmonic textures and vivid orchestration, and they mark the closing phase of Rachmaninoff's output, with the Symphonic Dances standing as his final completed work.
