symphonies nos. 40 & 41 »jupiter«
Album by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart & The English Concert & Trevor Pinnock
Symphonies Nos. 40 and 41 'Jupiter' are orchestral works by Austrian composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, composed in 1788. Representative of the late Classical style, they contrast the dark, restless textures and rhythmic urgency of the G minor symphony with the expansive, harmonically inventive writing and contrapuntal finale of the major-key work, and they conclude Mozart's year of intensive symphonic composition.
