Romeo and Juliet is a ballet score by Sergei Prokofiev, composed in 1935–36. The work blends late-Romantic orchestration with sharp rhythmic drive, prominent melodic themes and vivid orchestral colour, and it occupies a central place in Prokofiev's mature output and in the 20th-century ballet repertoire.
