Piano Concertos Nos. 1 & 2
Album by Franz Liszt & Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra & André Previn & Misha Dichter
Piano Concertos Nos. 1 & 2 are two piano concertos by Hungarian composer Franz Liszt, composed and revised across the mid-19th century (approximately 1830–1861). The works combine virtuosic pianistic writing with expansive orchestral textures and employ thematic transformation and symphonic thinking that helped broaden the Romantic concerto genre and mark a significant phase in Liszt's compositional output.
