Piano Quintet, op. 81 / Piano Quartet, op. 87

Album by Menahem Pressler & Menahem Pressler & Emerson String Quartet

Piano Quintet, Op. 81 and Piano Quartet, Op. 87 are chamber works by Antonín Dvořák, composed in 1887 and 1889 respectively. They exemplify Dvořák's mature chamber style, combining Bohemian folk-influenced melodies with classical forms, prominent piano writing and warm string textures, and they represent important entries in his late-1880s output as he consolidated his international reputation.
