Symphony no. 7 "Song of the Night"

Album by Gustav Mahler & Maurice Abravanel & Utah Symphony

Symphony No. 7 'Song of the Night' is the seventh symphony by Austrian composer Gustav Mahler, completed in 1905. The work employs a late-Romantic orchestral palette with nocturnal atmospheres, pronounced contrasts between lyrical and more agitated passages, expanded instrumentation and tonal experimentation, and occupies a transitional place in Mahler's output between his middle symphonies and his later, more introspective works.
