Tribal
Tribal music, with roots tracing back to indigenous cultures globally, began to gain a foothold in Western music circles during the late 20th century, especially through the world music movement. Characterised by complex rhythms and hypnotic percussion, it often evokes images of sunny festivals where everyone pretends they're deeply connected to nature whilst actually just enjoying the vibes. It’s got a certain joyfulness, as if the musicians have realised that rhythm is the best excuse to dance badly and still feel marvellous about it.
