Post Disco
Post-disco emerged in the early 1980s in the United States when disco fever took a slight detour into funk, R&B, and a smidgen of electronic wizardry, because who doesn't love a good synthesiser? It often features groovy basslines, soaring vocals, and just enough cheese to keep the party going, or at least until someone starts belting out a ballad. This genre was a cheeky way to keep the disco spirit alive whilst acknowledging that perhaps the dancefloor could do with a change of attire.
