Old Time

Old-Time music emerged in the Appalachian region of the United States, particularly in the 19th century, as a delightful concoction of folk traditions and a healthy dash of fiddle enthusiasm, making it the soundtrack for many a barn dance. Characterised by its toe-tapping rhythms, banjo twang, and the kind of vocal harmonies that suggest everyone involved is either related or just exceptionally forgiving of each other's pitch. It may not have the glitz of modern genres, but it certainly knows how to throw a good knees-up, proving that sometimes simplicity is just what the doctor ordered, especially after a few too many pints.
