Minimal Techno
Minimal Techno emerged in the 1990s, predominantly from clubs in Detroit and Berlin, as if someone decided that all the fuss in music could be condensed to just a few blinking lights and a relentless beat. Characterised by its stripped-back sound, it often features repetitive patterns and subtle variations, so while it might seem like a machine's lullaby, there's a surprising depth lurking beneath the surface. Its influence has made it the soundtrack of choice for both underground raves and pretentious dinner parties, proving that less can indeed be more, especially while trying to avoid a cringe-worthy dance move.
