Jazz Rock

Jazz-rock emerged in the late 1960s as musicians decided that blending the improvisational flair of jazz with the electrified bravado of rock was a splendid idea, quite possibly after a few pints. Characterised by complex chord changes and the sort of nifty solos that make you wonder if the musicians have a second brain, it appeals to those who enjoy the sound of a saxophone casually outshining a guitar solo. This genre led to the formation of some rather pretentious bands who proudly claimed their jazz degrees whilst wearing very large sunglasses indoors.
