Hill Country Blues
Hill Country Blues emerged in the late 1940s in the dusty backroads of northern Mississippi, where musicians realised that barefooted storytelling over raw guitar chords could be quite the hit, especially after a long day in the fields. This genre is characterised by repetitive guitar riffs and unpolished vocals that sound as if they've been through a round or two with a tumble dryer, creating an atmosphere both earthy and soulful. It gained a cult following, proving that sometimes the best way to express deep emotions is whilst your feet are firmly planted in the dirt, preferably with a delightful hint of whisky nearby.
