Cultural

Cultural music, often rooted in folk traditions, started as a way for communities to keep their heritage alive, with tunes that could be traced back centuries and generally performed during feasts or festivals, which also doubled as an excuse for a jolly good knees-up. Characterised by traditional instruments and storytelling lyrics, it sounds like a blend of nostalgia and the occasional earworm that has you tapping your feet without realising it. Forgetting the lyrics is par for the course, as everyone knows the real fun is in the communal singing, even if nobody remembers the last verse properly.
