Acoustic Blues

Acoustic Blues originated in the Deep South of the USA in the late 19th century, sounding suspiciously like someone lamenting their unfortunate life choices whilst strumming a guitar, often in a shack somewhere. Characterised by soulful vocals and finger-picked guitar riffs, it’s as if the musicians decided that sharing their woes with a bit of twang was the best therapy money could buy. It’s a genre with roots so deep, they could probably give a tree a run for its money, influencing countless artists and ensuring that every other musician can at least pretend to have a troubled past.
