The MC-505 is a groovebox and hardware sequencer manufactured by Roland and released in 1998. It influenced late 1990s and early 2000s electronic dance music, especially house, techno and big beat, and was used by club producers and live electronic acts, including Fatboy Slim and The Chemical Brothers, who used its pattern-based workflow to build tracks and perform sets.
