Louis Durey
Louis Durey was a French composer from Valence, Drôme, who began composing in the early 20th century and became associated with the circle known as Les Six, producing works across chamber, vocal, piano and orchestral genres. His music ranged from clear, traditional song settings to a later, more austere and contrapuntal idiom influenced by his political engagement and sustained interest in setting French texts.
