Leo Blech

Leo Blech was a German conductor and composer born in Rixdorf (now part of Berlin) in 1871, whose career began in the late 19th century and centred on opera and orchestral repertoire. He combined conducting with composition of stage and vocal works, and his professional trajectory included leadership at several German-speaking opera houses, with interruptions and relocations linked to the political upheavals of the 1930s and 1940s.
