Yamataka Eye is a Japanese experimental musician and visual artist who began his career in Osaka in the early 1980s, forming noise and experimental rock projects including Hanatarash and Boredoms and working across genres such as noise, punk and psychedelic rock. His musical style is characterised by abrasive vocal techniques, electronics, improvisation and confrontational performance art, later evolving into more rhythmically focused, psychedelic and tribal-influenced experimental rock that has been part of Japanese underground and alternative music scenes.
