Ralph Burns

Ralph Burns was an American jazz pianist, composer and arranger who began his career in the 1940s, working primarily in big-band jazz before moving into theatre and film music. His work blended big-band and modern jazz arranging with theatrical scoring, moving from jazz ensembles into Broadway and film orchestration and contributing to the integration of jazz idioms into mid-20th-century American popular and stage music.
