The Temptations

The Temptations are an American vocal group formed in Detroit, Michigan, in 1960 and associated with Motown Records, performing R&B, soul and doo-wop. Their musical style is characterised by close vocal harmonies and choreographed stage routines, with a notable evolution from classic soul and doo-wop towards funk and psychedelic soul in the late 1960s and 1970s that reflected wider shifts in popular music and African American cultural expression.
