Carlos Ward
Carlos Ward is a Panamanian-born jazz alto saxophonist and flautist who began his career in the 1960s, working in jazz and free-jazz contexts after relocating to the United States. His playing blends bebop-informed phrasing with free improvisation and Afro-Caribbean rhythmic influences, evolving to incorporate elements of avant-garde and world music within exploratory jazz scenes.
