Oskar Sala (1910–2002) was a German composer and electronic-instrument innovator who began his career in the late 1920s and specialised in electronic and experimental music centred on the Trautonium. He developed and refined the Mixtur-Trautonium to create a wide palette of timbres and worked in concert and film contexts, supplying electronically generated soundtracks and sound effects including material used in the 1963 film The Birds.
