Masada String Trio are an American chamber-jazz ensemble formed from projects around John Zorn's Masada songbook in the late 1990s, blending elements of jazz, contemporary chamber music and Jewish klezmer traditions. They interpret and arrange compositions from the Masada repertoire, juxtaposing written material with improvisation to explore interactions between jazz improvisation, string chamber textures and folk-derived melodic modes in contemporary and avant-garde contexts.
