Cipriano de Rore
Cipriano de Rore was a Franco-Flemish composer born in Ronse around 1515 who spent much of his career working in Italy and is associated with mid-16th-century madrigal and sacred music traditions. His work is characterised by expressive madrigals that expanded chromatic writing and text-driven word-painting, contributing to the evolution of the Italian madrigal and influencing subsequent composers.
